The Barn at Galleywinter Farm

Our beautiful barn built of native wood is located on a 20 acre working horse and health farm in the Rockfish Valley. One queen cedar bed and a single bed. Great for those in need of a relaxing getaway, or anyone looking for aesthetic surroundings and food for the soul.

This is a REAL Barn where you feel close to nature. There is a beautiful new all- wood outhouse with composting toilet 20' from the barn. Located 4 miles from Skyline Drive and 1 mile from Nelson 151 breweries.

The space

A Rustic Retreat in the barn, a symphony of poplar, hickory, walnut and yellow pine - native woods harvested on the property. The barn has a gorgeous Queen size cedar bed and a Twin bed of white birch and locust. Perfect for couples, single folks or families. 20' from the barn is a beautiful all -wood composting toilet "outhouse." Water is from our well and of exceptional quality. Folks come here just to drink the water!

You don’t need to be savvy about horses to stay here! (For those hankering for a close-to-horses experience, there are several horses who could spend the night in the box stalls below). There is no heat or AC - experience ambient conditions.

The farm fosters a sense of connection with nature, deep restfulness and relaxation. Our yoga and mediation studio offers a calming space to sit, stretch, or practice yoga. Enter the studio through our shade garden with sitting bench. Inside enjoy the quiet space, the poplar and maple walls and floor, woods view, birdsong and whatever your awareness brings into focus.

Your restorative stay can focus on doing as little as possible taking in fresh air, starry night skies and plenty of naps and sleep. You can explore gardens and native plants on the farm, walk our wooded paths, and find a quiet spot to sit and reflect.
